Inter-Utility Overhead Training Association
The purpose of IUOTA (Inter-Utility Overhead Training Association) is to promote increased efficiency and effectiveness of training for Overhead and Underground personnel through the exchange of ideas and training information. The scope of training activities includes safety, communications, operations, maintenance, general work practices, and policies related to training.

National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee
The finest electrical workers in the country receive their training through the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee of National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). It's a model education partnership which produces the best-trained, most up-to-date electrical apprentices and journeymen in the country.

IBEW - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) represents approximately 750,000 members who work in a wide variety of fields, including utilities, construction, telecommunications, broadcasting, manufacturing, railroads and government. The IBEW has members in both the United States and Canada and stands out among the American unions in the AFL-CIO because it is among the largest and has members in so many skilled occupations.

International Lineman's Museum
Established in 1997, by Andy Price, the International Lineman's Museum is located at 529 Caleb Road in Shelby, North Carolina and was created to preserve the history of linemen and the electrical utility industry. What began as a small dream to collect and display an historical lineman collection has grown into an anthology of several thousand items with artifacts dating as far back as the 1880's.
